new plot idea

So, I was going through my closet looking for something to wear today and got hit with a new plot idea. Strange place to get hit by a plot idea, I know. A closet. Then again, maybe not that strange. XD

The working title for this new fanfic is The Price of Wonderland.

It's a Harry Potter/Wonderland crossover. I haven't worked out all the ideas yet, and I refuse to let myself do so until I finish my HIS paper due in a few hours.

Essentially though, the war is over. Harry killed Voldemort in a rather expected yet still cheered about bloody battle outside Hogwarts. Despite having killed his arch enemy, Harry doesn't feel right. 'What am I supposed to do now?' he wonders. His whole life had been about living untli the final battle and then he was going to die tragically, taking down Voldemort with him as a final heroic act. Instead, he's alive.

Ginny is convinced the two are going to be together now that the war is over; Ron and Hermione, although they both fought in the war, don't seem to understand that Harry doesn't want to be married. Kingsley wants him to be Head Auror. The Wizarding World expects him to stay put on his pedastal, living as they wish him to. Always protecting them, getting married to his school sweetheart, and having multiple children the press can hound.

Fed up with it all, he wanders off into the forest on the borders of England. He wishes desperately he had another clear cut path to follow. Needing something to tell him what to do next now that he had killed the big bad guy. Several feet later, he trips over an upraised tree root and falls facefirst into a rabbit hole. Croosing his arms in front of his face, he braces for impact. Instead, a brush of magic slids past him and whisks him down the hole into another world.

Welcome Harry Potter, to Wonderland.

This Wonderland, though, is much darker than any version he had heard of, or could even imagine.

Cheshire are whores. The Mad Hatter kills for fun. The Red Queen rules all with an iron fist and insanity. The Doormouse is a cursed prince suffering from amnesia. And the March Hare is a drunken prophet who just recieved a new vision.

Thats all I have now, but the possibilites are just lurking at the edge of my mind, waiting to pounce. :E I've even got some character sketches in my head that I can draw out in art class. This story has seriously hit me over the head with a mallet and refused to give up it's stranglehold on my mind.

Any opinions on the idea, or suggestions of what I should do? All thoughts welcome! ♥
